Model and files

YarraMate separates canonical architecture knowledge from views generated for particular tools and audiences.

Workspace

.yarramate/workspace.yaml is the entry point. It references architecture documents, projections, adapter mappings, and evidence overlays.

Native architecture documents

Native YAML describes concepts, relationships, states, constraints, ownership, and attestations. These files are canonical source and should be reviewed like code.

Projections

Projections select and shape a view for a specific question or audience. Rendered artifacts are derived output.

Evidence overlays

Evidence overlays attach observations to model subjects. Reconciliation reports whether claims are confirmed, contradicted, or still unknown.

States

States make change explicit. A baseline can describe the current system and a target the intended one without confusing the two.

Generated output

Generated files normally live under .yarramate-out/. Delete and regenerate them when needed; never edit them as architecture source.

Normative specifications

These guides optimize for adoption. For schemas, precise semantics, architecture decisions, and maintainer detail, use the YarraMate product documentation.
